Costumes of the World - Japan

A6 printed greetings card depicting aspects of the traditional Japanese Kimono style dress for men and women, taken from my Costumes of the World Collection.

The most well-known form of traditional Japanese fashion is the kimono, translating literally as "something to wear" or "thing worn on the shoulders". Men's kimono are relatively simple, consisting of only 5 pieces plus footwear, compared to women's kimono which can incorporate up to 35 pieces. They are also made of coarser cloth and not usually so colourful or patterned. Common colours are: back, brown, dark blue or green. Women's kimono are very colourful and often made of thinner, more delicate fabrics.

Blank inside for your own message, each card is supplied with a brown Kraft envelope and packaged in a clear, compostable cellophane sleeve.

Printed in the UK on 350gsm Invercote card.
