Sylvia Pankhurst (1882-1960) English artist, campaigner for the suffragette movement, prominent left communist and anti-fascist activist. She and Amy Bull founded the East London Federation of the WSPU, an attempt to defend the interests of women in the poorer parts of London. She spent much of her later life agitating on behalf of Ethiopia, where she eventually moved.
